When does the next Coast Guard basic training start? Or how often do the basic training programs start?

I’m wanting to join the Coast Guard. I haven’t talked to a recruiter yet or got any information about it except for what I have looked up on the internet or heard from other people. But I was just curious if I joined today when they soonest I could be shipped out to NJ would be for basic training.

it will depend…the sooner you talk to your recruiter the sooner you can be shipped out..its going to be a wait though since there are so many people trying to join these days..

but go talk to your recruiter so you can get the process started..

i lucked out because im a girl and since less girls join theres more beds open for girl..so im shipping out in july or august and i just started the process a month ago!

Ship days are Tuesdays. . .

As far as how long it’ll take to get in, it all depends on where you’re recruiting through, how much of their mission they’ve already made, and how qualified of an applicant you are.

Go see a recruiter soonest if you really want to start working to get in.

I graduated last friday and there were guys in there that waited over a year to join. I didn’t have to wait that long, maybe 3 months, but I got a 97 on the asvab and signed for a critical rating (OS). It depends on who you are, but the sooner the better. Also note that the whole process with your recruiter is step-by-step and takes a while in and of itself. Security packets and so forth.

    And don’t get arrested.
