I’m preparing a module on Teambuilding and Leadership Training for teeagers. Do you have, games, activities
I need suggestions on games and activities which I can include in my module. This is for a group of teeagers that are preparing for a family encounter (church-based)
My favorite activity is the "spoons" activity. Each kid gets a plastic spoon. The goal is for every person in the group to have only one spoon at a time. It’s very simple – I read a story and every time they hear the word "left" they have to pass to the person on their left. Every time they hear the word "right" they pass to the person on their right. They pass the spoon one time for each time they hear the word, so if the hear the word three times they pass it three times.
I explain to the kids how simple this is and how they really won’t have any problem with it. I have them practice once or twice. Then I begin to read the story: "Life with the Wright Family." The story is about the Wright family who left on a vacation. They took Father Wright, Timmy Wright, Suzy Wright (etc.) and left.
The story continues from there, but you get the idea. If you’d like the entire story I’ll have to email it to you because it’s too long to put here. I really like it because it forces the kids to work together and they laugh and have a really good time. I teach teenagers at the middle school level but I’ve also used it with older kids and even a few training sessions I did for other teachers.

I attended a leadership camp that had some good activities. In one we all held hand and without talking had to form different letters of the alphabet. Or we did one where each person got a card and held it on their foreheads without looking at it. Then without talking had to line up in a certain order. There is always the one where you form a circle and everyone grabs different peoples hands and then try to unknot yourself without letting go. That’s all I can think of at the time but if I come up with anymore I’ll add them to my list. Have fun and good luck!

I think this may have been a Kagan strategy but I don’t remember.
