What are the differences in leadership style from training and combat conditions?

There are differing opinions on the matter. I had the fortune, or misfortune depending on how you look at it, of working for a sergeant major who had served under Colonel Tony Herbert when I was in the Army. Herbert’s philosophy was that training should be done under conditions worse then combat. For example, Herbert once dynamited a frozen river then had his troops swim across it. The idea being that if a soldier could function in such situations, then they’d have fewer problems functioning under better conditions while being shot at. The idea has some logic to it of course, but it makes your training time a miserable experience. On the other hand, I’m still alive.

I’m 40, based in E.Sussex and having been signed off my long term job would like to use this opportunity to retrain as a plasterer. I have no idea what’s available re funded government courses/retraining schemes but most of them seem to be aimed at young people. I don’t want to spend ages as an apprentice or at college as am keen to get back to work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know that the government are doing a big push at the moment to retrain people via apprenticeships etc, although you do not think it is what your looking for perhaps if you at least look at whats available then you can be sure.

Do all modeling agencies require you to take $1000 training courses?

I just came back from Sutherland Models. The lady there, Lynn, saw potential in me because I’m good with the camera, good body frame, huge feet meaning I could grow to be even taller than I am now… She told me that all starters have to go through a Training course that costs (when you add everything up) $1000 for 10 weeks. Do all agencies require this? I honestly can’t afford this but I still want to model, and could.

DON’T DO IT. if an agency offers you any sort of "training course" or introduction that costs money, they are a scam. they. are. a. scam. don’t pay it. no no no no. get out of there and to a reputable modeling agency. they should be paying you, not the other way around.

i watched a video on forces.ca and they said you can do advanced training for parachuting and snipers i was wondering what are all the courses they have available and dont tell me i need to join first that pretty obvious…im just curious

To answer your question, yes, these courses are available. Interested military personnel apply for the course they’d like to take and go through a selection process. If you’re picked you take the course, if not, you try again next year.

I know that a lot of trainers have age specific programs. Generally, what programs are open to a 1 year old German Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute? This includes obedience, agility and any other kind of training program regardless of price.

Positive reinforcement through clicker training can be started in 8 week old puppies and sometimes younger. The is no physical force the are rewarded with treat for accomplishing a task. Agility training can start as a puppy but they wait on jumping until 18 months old to keep the dogs from having bone and joint damage.

Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows of any hospitals or free training that offer Certified Nurses Aid training in Nassau or Queens. I was told that some hospitals offer the course. But the information that I received is outdated. I am looking for something with a high placement rate that would help with finding work. If anyone has any information I would gladly appreciate it.

Those classes are never free. It costs for materials and having someone certified teach it. There should be plenty of schools in that area. My stepson just completed a course like that here in Wyoming two months ago, and is going for his license now.

I am looking at buying training courses for my company and am not sure where the best place to start is as there are so many providers. Can anyone help based on previous experience?

There are, as you say lots of providers.

A good place to start would be your local colleges of further and higher education. They provide a number of work orientated courses. (IT, marketing, Accountancy etc).

You could also try your local Department of Trade or Enterprise Agencies, who may be able to advise on specific courses (eg VAT & Tax requirements short courses).

If you need people to train as First Aiders, try your local Occupational Health Service.

There are also many Professional Bodies that represent people of specific trades who may be able to offer advice or training courses.

These are certified, recognised training courses delivered by legitimate sources/providers. Thanks.
Good v bad can be rather subjective though.

One example would be penetration testers. Companies hire these ‘ethical hackers’ to attempt to pentrate the company’s network. If they can penetrate, they document what they did so the company can take steps to secure the network.

Hi, Im doing a assignment and I to do a development plan and one of my long term goals is to own a cafe. so far the only training/course i can think of is Business management and of course Batista experience any opinions(what you think you would need) or course names/info would be great
