!!Corporate training in colleges!!?

Do you think that students require a corporate level training in colleges on how a corporate is organised, how can they make an entry, salary structure &growth factor… To remain planned before they exit out with a degree and dream to get a Job…

Yes, they need one but it must be well organized in the sense if the training is only about to level MNC’s like Infy, CTS, TCS etc; and how they can get in to it and what is the work culture like in these top companies then it is of less use!

The program must also include Small and Medium based enterprises; Core companies like Mech, Civil companies etc;

Because when a student comes out of college; they and their parents have only one thought – that they must get in to a MNC that pays them 20k – 25k or 30k .. if everybody gets a job like that then it is not a problem but will that happen?

So, students must also understand that they are building a career and hence small and medium based enterprises are also equally good to learn and after a few years they can always jump to the bigger ones.

I had worked as a HR executive for a Small and Medium based IT firm and I can tell you, to get a fresher with 10k to 12k is very difficult! I had numerous experiences with pupils who demand (yes demand) 15k as salary … even people who are jobless for 2 years after passing out expect 15k or 20k as starting salary!

This is because their mindset and their parents mindset are fixed to the MNC’s and their culture and salary etc;

So, it is important to teach them what it is actually like and the difference between fact and fiction when it comes to IT!

    Rather than a corporate training which is another part of survival training which is what our education system primarily does, we need to have entrepreneurship training. Education system should make leaders rather than creating or equipping people to merely survive. Rather than a corporate training, the students should be trained on how to become a leader and provide / create opportunities on their own. Education system should create an environment and the Govt. should create avenues for this environment to grow. Simply, the education system should create entrepreneurs and the government should provide support for these entrepreneurs to grow.
