How Can i Find a HR Training in India?

May 1, 2010 - 12:12 pm 1 Comment

Dear All,

I am from Afghanistan. Currently working as HR Officer in one of Government Sections. since two months I am searching for a HR Training In India , however unfortunately I couldn’t find any suitable Training. Therefore I request you all to please see if you could help me in this regard.
I need a HR Training that should be at least for five days.
I wonder if you could please send me any link so I could browse in and find a Training.

My suggestions in India for certifications are

1) Recruitment -> Do the Certified Recruitment Analyst program which is a globally accredited program from Carlton advanced management Institute ( CAMI ) ( There are many agencies which run this program in India – Like Middle earth, Contactx in Mumbai , people strategists in Delhi , Vibrant Serve in Bangalore , AKS academy in Kolkatta. ) details of this program can be obtained from www.mecindia.in or by calling their main number in India which is 91-9948511234 or 040-23550696)

2) Learning and development – Do the 6 month diploma in Training from ISTD ( details are available on the site – www.istddiploma.org ). Alternatively or alongside do the Certified trainer and facilitator ( CTF ) and Certified Learning and Development Manager ( CLDM ) from Carlton Advanced Management institute( CAMI ) – ( the same contact details as above ). You can also do the TTT program from Dale Carnegie India ( see the

3) Compensation and performance management – Do the Certified Compensation and Benefit Manager (CCBM ) and CPCD ( Certified performance and Competency Developer – this is similar to the CLDM program so do either not both ) from CAMI ( same details as in Part 1 ), alternatively try the Certified Compensation professional from world at work ( www.worldatwork.org) or the certified performance technologist ( CPT ) program from ISPI ( International society for performance Improvement )

Which is better and degree in HR or a Certificate?

April 27, 2010 - 11:34 am 4 Comments

My company wants to move me into the HR position (very samll company, only 15 or so employees). I got my BS in BA 3 years ago. They are willing to pay for me to go back and get a certification in HR training, but not for me to go back to get a degree (becuase of cost). But in the long run, am I better off going to get my degree to further my career in HR or is the certification enough? If I was to go back to get a degree does anyone know how long it would possibly take, meaning would I have to go 4 years again?

You already have a bachelor’s in business administration, which is an adequate degree for human resources positions. So all you need now is the proper preparation to become certified.

Many companies that hire people for HR positions hire people with business degrees. And most companies prefer their HR professionals to be certified. It would be to your advantage to get the certification, even if you already have the job. (in case you later change jobs)

Can I know any core HR training Center?

April 25, 2010 - 8:29 am 1 Comment

There are many, but you didn’t specify the location. But before you go on for training, just see what kind of training they provide. Does that include practical training apart from classes. And do they cover all the important aspects. Check all these and then you can proceed with the training.

Is there any value in getting an MBA or Master’s in Human Resources? I think I need more HR training?

April 23, 2010 - 8:35 am 3 Comments

I’m a corporate recruiter with about 7 years experience. Most of my experience has been recruiting for financial services firms. Unfortunately I just recently got laid off due to the terrible state of the financial markets.

I would like to move in to other areas of HR but I am not qualified for them because I only really have recruiting experience and no other formal training or experience in other areas of HR. What worries me if that no one is hiring at the moment and they are projecting 2009 is supposed to be worse than 2008 – and if that is the case, a lot of companies will not be hiring a lot and hence will not need recruiters. Plus with the markets and economy being what it is and with the number of candidates there are out on the market looking for jobs (who I am technically competing against for jobs), would I be smart to take the next 2 years and get a graduate degree?

Is there any value added in getting a Masters or MBA in Human Resources? I have heard several people say it might not be worth my time and money as you do not need an MA or MBA to work in HR, so I wonder if it is worth it or not.

So – what do I do? Do I….
1) Continue to apply for recruiting jobs in this downturn economy and hope that someone somewhere gives me an interview and possibly even a job offer?
2) Take a big cut in salary and title (which I can afford to do luckily) and start from scratch looking for (and possibly taking) an HR Coordinator/Jr. Generalist or another entry HR type role where I can learn a new facet of HR from the ground up?
3) Or should I sink my time and money into getting an MA or MBA in HR? A lot of people argue it is not necessary to get a graduate degree in HR and that you can learn everything on the job.

Any thoughts?

THANKS!!!!

Yes a masters degree would be good and in today’s market the best. I have heard and seen that now people are wanting people with a masters degree in their area or 3 to 4 years experience. You have 7 that’s great!! You have experience in one area of HR, now why not try to get a Masters in perhaps another area of HR. That will make you look better and greatly improve your chances of getting a job and moving up the ladder to a much higher job within HR. You see what I mean? You have 7 years experience which looks great in recruiting, now how about getting a masters in HR in the area of say education and development. That would make you at least twice as likely to get a good job and you will open many more doors. Best of luck to you! You I’m sure already know about this website but if not or if you have forgotten it, it has some good info on the HR industry.
