How to run computer training business and earn Profit?

If you aren’t a certified instructor, there isn’t much point. No one will come and you might need to be to open this business. Okay, let’s say you don’t need to be…. First find a good location to conduct this business, so people won’t be afraid to come. You can also can offer to do this in people’s homes and/or businesses. Advertise, advertise. You won’t get anyone to come or call unless you do. May sure you are getting more than you are spending. It’s about that simple.

How can I find a business offering training on an externship who may consider employing me after graduation?

March 2, 2010 - 7:12 am 3 Comments

Going to attend Trade School for Medical Insurance Coding Specialist. Part of the curicculum is an 220 externship. Need to be employed at end of training. I’m in my 40’s and this is all new to me. Haven’t been to school since 1981…..

Look up local health insurance companys or medical offices, places you could see yourself working who could use an intern. I was an intern and did my internship at a health insurance company. Busy companies with tight budgets love the idea of having one. Your there for free and your helping them out. The school I went to coordinated the internships but you can always call the human resources department and set yourself up. They dont have to hire you… your there to help. Once you get in show them how good you are and how much easier you made their lives being there… brown nose a little bit and by the time your internship is up they wont want you to go. Even with a tight budget they were able to fit me in. That was my strategy. Good Luck!

How do I start my own service dog training business?

February 28, 2010 - 10:28 am 1 Comment

I mean Legally what stuff would I have to deal with (licences, certificates etc)
I want to train them and sell/place them myself.
Its ok if u cant answer, its kinda hard to

There are no national regulations on service dog trainers, so whatever you need will depend on your state’s laws and regulations. Your state’s attorney general’s office would know. If your state has a human rights commission they would know too. Your state’s secretary of state is probably the one you’ll have to go through for any licenses.

When in doubt about state government, you can always contact your state representative, even by email. They keep a well staffed office to help their constituents (people from their home district whom they serve), and that includes helping them find what they need from the government.

The governor’s office has a similar staff. Seriously. They’re experts at sending you to the right source of information about anything related to state government.

Links for all of these offices can be found on your state’s homepage.

I work with a group who collect and organize various laws related to service dogs and share them with others in a database. The database we use is undergoing a huge overhaul, but the basic resources are still available online, free to anyone (no ads, no registration, nothin’). Some of those resources include information on how to contact state government, for each state in the U.S. so you can go there, click on your state, and get started that way. Findlaw.com has something similar, but is not focused on service dogs. Ours is located at http://www.servicedogcentral.org/content/node/51

New consultancy and training business start up?

February 26, 2010 - 7:12 am 7 Comments

I want to advertise my services and offer consultancy to care providers. I’ve got the company name, know the business plan etc. But I’m confused!!

I’m keeping my full time job so its just a few hours on the side. Do i need to register the business as a sole trader? Or can I just register the business name at Companies House? I like the name so I don’t want anyone to nick it!!

At what stage can I open up a company bank account?

What month do I tell Inland Revenue about how much I earned?
20th Oct – I’ve just registered as self employed with the Inland Revenue! Given them the name I was thinking of using as a trading name.

What do I need to do next? Thanks

For a few hours on the side it is best to seriously think over actually registering for a new company. The director of a company has legal responsibilities and it may not result cost effective in this case.

If you do decide to register the name, this will only ensure your company name is registered and unique at the Companies House. As a trade name or trademark it is not the responsibility of the Companies House to register this.

A company account can be opened the moment the company is opened. If it is a registered company then typically a bank will request to see the orginal incorporation certificate. Please consult with your bank first to find out the exact documentation they require.

Upon the Inland Revenue finding out you have a company they will send a request for information form. This begins the process to arrange your Corporate Tax details. Tax would be due after the year end about 4-7 months after that.

If you remain as a sole trader, your tax will be due on your tax return in Sept/Jan respectfully as if you were a self-employed person.

what is a good name for a new personal training business?

February 22, 2010 - 9:34 am 2 Comments

a friend of mine is starting a new personal training business? and needs a striking/attracting name? the business will provide physical personal training by a trainer that focuses on various things such as fitness/resistance training/endurance/+ much much more. please help. any creative suggestions are helpful.

From a marketing stand point always include something relevant in the name. It lets people know what the product or service is and helps on search engine optimization.

To come up with something creative I would need more info. Brainstorm and don’t edit any thoughts and come up with 100 names and then go through and eliminate the ones you don’t like. When you narrow it down remember to check out the name to make sure it isn’t already taken.
