Does anyone know any good online leadership training programs?

May 31, 2010 - 6:59 am 4 Comments

I’m 26 and have just been promoted into a leadership role. I can do my job well however I’ve never had any leadership experience. Does anyone know any good leadership training programs? I would prefer to do an online course as I don’t have much spare time. I don’t need a qualification, I just want to learn some valuable leadership techniques to help me succeed.

As I know, this site has top listing of such college courses online – schools.iblogger.org

But the problem is i want to become a corporate trainer. But i don’t know which college to study or which courser to take, to ensure that i become a corporate trainer. Can any one please advice me on which are good colleges that i can per-sue my career in corporate training or training field in corporate world.

You don`t say which country, but for some reason I`m thinking USA, and I`m not familiar with their procedures. However;
In UK, the normal route to such a career would be either through equivalent experience in an `outside` employment field (ie non-corporate, probably school-teaching, consultancy, public sector or similar) <and generally the most valued, providing the subjects `toyght` had some relevance to a prospective employer>, or, if via the less likely INTERNAL route, by either being seen to have developed such a skill (perhaps organising/running your own team) or being `spotted` by a Manager, and subsequently head-hunted through Personnel.
College courses are unlikely; though participation in short/in-house PRESENTATION SKILLS courses or the like could help; but again you probably need to be identified firstly as a good STUDEND on one of those before you can expect to be recruited.
The final alternative would be to try to gain employment in some sort of Consultancy or public-facing organisation. Once again, the initial spark usually comes through being spotted as an above-average participant/contributor; but want you aspire to be is a rare gift, so if you ARE capable, and you DO persevere, the ultimate rewards could be good.

which are the short term training programs for project management exposure?

May 28, 2010 - 1:59 pm 3 Comments

I am a chemical engineer with practically nil experience in project planning & execution. If suh part time or full time residential courses are available, it will be useful.

You may want to consider Project Management Professional Exam Preparation course. If you have handled various projects before, this course will definitely expands your knowledge in the area of project management and at the same time awards you with the professional credential that will be befefial in your existing career.
